Israeli continued its relentless bombardment of the Gaza Strip on Monday, striking Palestinian homes, tents sheltering displaced families, and a water desalination plant, killing several Palestinians including a child and wounding more than a dozen others, in fresh violations of a ceasefire that Israel has never stopped breaching.
In Khan Younis, a medical source at Nasser Hospital said the body of 10-year-old Amal Nashat Abu Khater was brought in along with two wounded Palestinians after occupation forces targeted homes and displacement tents with gunfire. Witnesses reported that Israeli occupation vehicles opened fire on the city's Satr area, wounding three more people, while others reported heavy Israeli gunfire directed at tents housing the displaced. In central Gaza, two Palestinian brothers, Mohammed Abdul Nasser Abu Asad, 27, and Ibrahim Abdel Nasser Abu Asad, 24, were killed when an Israeli drone struck a tent sheltering displaced people near Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
Israeli aircrafts also struck a water treatment facility in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, sending an explosion tearing through infrastructure that Palestinians depend on for their most basic needs. The targeting of a water facility, in a territory where clean water is already scarce under Israel's siege, deepened the humanitarian catastrophe engulfing more than two million people. In Gaza City, two Palestinians, including a woman, were wounded by Israeli gunfire in the Zeitoun and Shujaiya neighborhoods.
Alongside the strikes, the occupation army on Monday ordered the evacuation of a residential area north of the al-Shati refugee camp in northwestern Gaza City, an area home to tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians and local residents. The forced displacement order came just a day after Israel's War Minister Israel Katz and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to carry out assassinations and to evacuate entire residential neighborhoods in Gaza over a handful of paper kites flown by Palestinian children. Israel issued those threats even after its own army admitted that the kites recovered near the boundary carried no explosives or suspicious material and posed no danger, exposing the kites as a manufactured pretext for the very escalation now unfolding.
Monday's killings were part of an unbroken pattern of daily Israeli attacks. Additional Palestinians died of wounds sustained in earlier strikes, including a man who succumbed to injuries from an Israeli strike on a Gaza City cafe the previous week, an attack that killed eight Palestinians and wounded 14 others. The relentless assault has continued despite US President Donald Trump's own statement that Israel should not be striking in Gaza, and his acknowledgment that Hamas had agreed to lay down its weapons under the US-backed plan.
According to Gaza's government media office, Israel has committed 4,379 violations of the ceasefire since it ostensibly took effect last October. In truth, Israel has never honored the truce for a single day since it came into force on October 10, 2025, continuing its strikes, shootings, and demolitions without interruption from the very first hours of the agreement. Only 66,607 aid trucks have entered Gaza out of the 189,000 that were supposed to arrive by Monday, as Israel continues to block agreed aid deliveries into a territory where some 2.4 million Palestinians live, roughly 2.15 million of them displaced by Israel's attacks.
Since the ceasefire took effect, Israel has killed at least 1,288 Palestinians and wounded 4,290 others, according to Gaza's Health Ministry, with a further 813 bodies recovered from the rubble. The overall death toll from Israel's genocide since October 2023 now stands at 73,422 killed and more than 174,000 wounded, the majority of them women and children, with countless others still buried beneath the ruins. Israel has destroyed around 90 percent of Gaza's civilian infrastructure, with the UN estimating reconstruction costs at some 70 billion dollars.
